CONSTRUCTION:
The base of the earthing switch is made as a framework of steel plates. Lateral
plates are furnished with a bearing of vertical crankshaft and two brackets of horizontal
axis supporting the lever holder of the earthing knife. The base is provided with an earthing
terminal connected with the knife by means of flexible copper connecting lead. The upper part
of vertical output shaft constitutes a crank, which is interconnected with the lever holder
of the earthing knife, by means of a pull-rod. The latter three elements constitute a lever
gear which crosses the dead points in both extreme positions. Rotary motion of the output
shaft, through the vertical crankshaft, is transmitted by the pull-rod on the lever holder of
the knife, causing its transposition from one extreme position to the other.
